You can always count on the silver section of the sale to do well and hold its own against the other sections of the sale, and the silver in our 19th August sale was no different. The star of the silver section was a tie between lot 370 – “A large Victorian silver lidded jug, the domed top with gladiator head terminal, flowerheads and anthemions, the tapering body… “, Estimate: £1,500-2,000, and lot 366 – “A late Victorian silver twin handled punch bowl, with a band of cornucopia and masks with leaves and flowers on a spreading foot…” Estimate: £1,500-2,000, which sold for £2,100.00 each
