The UK Government’s 5AML (anti-money laundering) legislation comes into affect for auction houses tomorrow, Thursday 10th June 2021, and all auction houses are now required to do “due diligence” checks. As such, you will now be asked to provide government issued photographic ID (driver’s licence or passport) in order to bid with us, or sell at auction through us. This process will only need to be done once during the validity period of your ID (IE: if you provide us with your passport and it is only valid for 2 more years, then in 2 years time we will need to have a copy of your new passport in order for you to bid or sell).
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, but we are legally required to so this.
Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
