A remarkable Minton Majolica game tureen and cover, dated 1877, the base modelled as a decorative oval patè mould in yellow, ochre and blue, resting on a fixed basketwork tray or stand with rope handles, the cover with the heads of two hares and two mallard ducks realistically coloured and symmetrically arranged on a cobalt glazed dome studded with yellow florets, 31.5cm high, 46.5cm wide, impressed MINTONS with date cipher, model number 1990 impressed ***** The most splendid of all Majolica game tureens, this model has been attributed to Paul Comolera. An example was illustrated on the cover of the catalogue of the pioneering exhibition of Majolica held at Jeremy cooper Ltd in 1982. See also Karmason and Stacke, Majolica (1989), p.48. A gentleman's Rolex Submariner bracelet watch, with a circular black dial, luminous hour markers and silver/luminous hands and seconds sweep, the dial inscribed "Rolex Oyster Perpetual 100m=330ft Submariner Swiss T 25" to a stainless steel case (bezel missing) to an oyster link style bracelet. Model number 6536-1, case reference 306396. Sold for £4,200 at Anthemion Auctions
