Musical instruments tend to sell well, and we often have them go through both of our auction types – our Fine Art Sales and our General Sales. Our Fine Art sale on the 21st of July saw two lots of particular interest to those in the music industry. Lot 444 was a violin made by John Betts, from 1779, and lot 447 which was an English silver mounted violin bow by W.E Hill & Sons. interest in these two lots prior to the sale was high, and they were two of our most watched lots in the auction. Bidding was high, and the two sold for a combined hammer price of £4,900.00!
